ERC may control culture department

It sounds like wishful thinking to me but Carod Rovira has suggested that after the next Generalitat elections, Esquerra could control the culture department of the Catalan government.

This is, of course, sheer horror to the many contre-catalanista boggers around. Doubtlessly, we're in for more horror stories about fines for Spanish notices and over-funding for TV3/33 - easily the best channels in Spain.

In a way, I feel bad for Rovira. I don't hate him as many other English language bloggers do. I just feel sorry for the fact that his hands seem to be tied by the more ethnic-nationalist wing of his party. A lot of their policies are perfectly laudable… but unsurprisingly, they only get  noticed for the ill thought out ones.
