About me

MeMy name's Tom Clarke. I live in Cerdanyola del Vallès, a town just outside Barcelona (Catalonia), with my wife, Gemma and our dog, Larry. I'm originally from Modbury, Devon in the UK. A writer and editor, I work in a laboratory outside Barcelona.

I've been writing and reading about the movement for Catalan independence for years. I'm not exactly an impartial observer, but I do feel like I've been through many of the arguments for and against a new Catalan republic.

For blog posts relating to life in Barcelona & Catalonia, my dog, travel, food, books, music and all my other baggage, there's always tomBCN.com – more of a personal blog, and no politics.

  1. Hi Tom, I registered with your site in the hope I would be able to e-mail you but this is the only option I can find to contact you. Nothing important, just wanted to say hello and remind your readers that they can read political and satirical comment on http://www.motoespana.com.

  2. Hi Tom

Came across you when checking my facts about COPE for a post on "http://www.romir.ru/eng/research/01_2001/european-values.htm"

I'm in Scotland but more Catalan than anything else blood-wise.

  3. Pere – thanks for your comment! Unfortunately, the second link also fails! I hope you will let me know when the piece you were writing is complete; I'd be interested in reading it.

  4. Tom – great that you're taking such a strong interest in what happened on Saturday at the march. Here's an invitation to come onto Radio Free Barcelona to put across your views on this, and other topics you might like to touch on. While the iron's hot, let's strike; i.e. any time that suits you Thursday, or Friday morning, pre-recorded for a Saturday broadcast. No need to dress for the camera…
